Regular Season Round 14: Hotshots - Alaska Aces 118-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Pasig City. First ranked Hotshots faced 4th ranked Alaska Aces. Host Hotshots (9-1) smashed guests from Makati (6-5) 118-91. Hotshots made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American Mike Harris (198-1983, college: Rice) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-1988, college: Oregon) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Regile Ilagan added 14 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hotshots have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Alaska Aces at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Ginebra Kings. Hotshots are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite (#12) in Caloocan City in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Alaska Aces will have a break next round.
