Regular Season Round 43: Shizuoka - Yamaguchi 101-71

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Shizuoka (23-9) smashed at home 12th ranked Yamaguchi (11-27) 101-71 on Saturday. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Yamaguchi's 28. They outrebounded Yamaguchi 46-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Atomu Yamada (179-1998) produced 23 points and 5 assists and American center Nicholas Evans (210-1988, college: S.Indiana) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 23-9 record. Yamaguchi lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 27 games lost. Shizuoka are looking forward to face league's leader Nagasaki on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
