No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sirjan (13-6) defeated at home 4th ranked Niroo Zamini (0-19) 88-72 on Friday. They outrebounded Niroo Zamini 40-25 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sirjan looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-1986) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Montenegrin-Serbian forward Nikola Dragovic (206-1987, college: UCLA, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Pouya Yakhchali (-1996) responded with 26 points and 4 assists and Khashayar Ali-Akbari scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Sirjan maintains second position with 13-6 record behind leader Gorgan. Loser Niroo Zamini still closes the standings with 19 games lost. Sirjan will meet at home league's leader Chemidor in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Niroo Zamini will have a break next round.
