Top ranked Gorgan (16-3) recorded its third loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Kouchin (9-10) 99-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gorgan. Kouchin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international Matin Aghajanpour (199-2001, agency: Domantay Sports) fired 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Amirhossein Yazarloo (196-2002, agency: Domantay Sports) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. International Mohammad Jamshidi (199-1991, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 assists and American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-1988, college: UTRGV) added 23 points and 7 steals respectively for lost side. Five Kouchin and four Gorgan players scored in double figures. Gorgan's coach Mehran Hatami tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kouchin maintains third position with 9-10 record having three points less than leader Gorgan. Defending champion Gorgan still keeps top place with three games lost. Kouchin are looking forward to face Exxon SC (#4) in Teheran in the next round. Gorgan will play on the road against the league's second-placed Rafsanjan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
