Regular Season Round 12: Meralco Bolts - Hotshots 85-88

The most exciting game of round 12 in the PBA took place in Manila. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Meralco Bolts (5-3) to first ranked Hotshots (8-1) 88-85 on Wednesday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Meralco Bolts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American Mike Harris (198-1983, college: Rice) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 22 rebounds. Point guard Jiovani Jalalon (175-1992) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Chris Newsome (187-1990, college: Georgetown, KY) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Five Hotshots and four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hotshots maintains first position with 8-1 record. Meralco Bolts at the other side keep the fourth place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
