Regular Season Round 15: Taoyuan L. - Tainan GH 118-99
Date: February 28, 2022
Bottom-ranked Leopards managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive losses. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked GhostHawks in Taoyuan 118-99. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 19-point difference suggests that Leopards is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. It was a great evening for American point guard John Gillon (183-1994, college: Syracuse) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import Deyonta Davis (208-1996, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 15 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Costa Rican-Belizean Charles Garcia (208-1988, college: Seattle) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Marcus Gilbert (198-1993, college: Fairfield) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Leopards and four GhostHawks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Leopards (2-11) moved-up to fifth place. GhostHawks lost ninth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 12 games lost. Leopards will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GhostHawks will play at home against TB Herobears (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
