Regular Season Round 33: Al Arabi - Al Rayyan 81-82

Bottom-ranked Al Rayyan managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they edged sixth-ranked Al Arabi in Doha 82-81. Indonesian Jalil Bassit (193) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Tony Townsend chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Charles Hinkle (198-1988, college: American) with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Nick West (210-1994, college: AAMU) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Rayyan (3-11) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Al Khor. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
