Regular Season Round 11: Alaska Aces - Meralco Bolts 94-93

Important game to mention about took place in Makati. Fourth ranked Alaska Aces (6-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Meralco Bolts (5-2) 94-93 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Meralco Bolts. It was a great shooting night for Alaska Aces especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-1988, college: Oregon) saved the victory by scoring 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Naturalized American guard Michael Digregorio (185-1990, college: McKendree) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Allein Maliksi (191) added 32 points in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Alaska Aces moved-up to third place. Meralco Bolts at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Alaska Aces will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Meralco Bolts will play at home against the league's second-placed Hotshots (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
