Regular Season Round 10: Alaska Aces - NLEX RW 89-106

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Makati. Second ranked NLEX RW faced 4th ranked Alaska Aces. Guests from Makati City (7-3) defeated host Alaska Aces (6-3) 106-89. It was a key game for the top position in the league. NLEX RW made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman KJ McDaniels (198-1993, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Guamanian guard Jericho Cruz (182-1990) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four NLEX RW players scored in double figures. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-1988, college: Oregon) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Abu Jahal Tratter (196-1993) added 17 points in the effort for Alaska Aces. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NLEX RW have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Alaska Aces at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. NLEX RW will play against Rain or Shine (#10) in Manila in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alaska Aces will play at home against Meralco Bolts (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
