Regular Season Round 9: Hotshots - Phoenix 103-83

The game between Top Four teams took place in Pasig City. Leader host Hotshots (6-0) smashed 3rd placed Phoenix (4-2) 103-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Phoenix. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix's 38. Hotshots forced 20 Phoenix turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American Mike Harris (198-1983, college: Rice) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Andy Barroca (176-1988) accounted for 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Hotshots players scored in double figures. Naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) came up with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Billy Ray Robles (183) added 15 points respectively for Phoenix in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hotshots have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Phoenix at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost.
