Regular Season Round 8: TNT Tropang - Ginebra Kings 119-92

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (4-4) rolled over 6th ranked Ginebra Kings (3-3) in Makati 119-92 on Friday. TNT Ka Tropa had a 36-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. TNT Ka Tropa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by naturalized American guard Michael Williams (188-1991, college: CS Fullerton) who scored that evening 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Even 25 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Ginebra Kings. Center Japeth Aguilar (206-1987, college: WKU) added 18 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Ginebra Kings lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with SM Beermen. TNT Ka Tropa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ginebra Kings will play against SM Beermen (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
