Regular Season Round 8: Blackwater Elite - NLEX RW 97-117

Bottom-ranked Blackwater Elite is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fourth ranked NLEX RW (5-3) 117-97 on Friday evening. NLEX RW made 29-of-37 free shots (78.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Blackwater Elite's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when NLEX RW made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American swingman K.J. McDaniels (198-1993, college: Clemson) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and Guamanian guard Jericho Cruz (182-1990) supported him with 22 points and 5 assists. Five NLEX RW players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 39 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds by American forward Shawn Glover (201-1990, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Blackwater Elite. Guard Myke Ayonayon added 11 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NLEX RW moved-up to second place. Loser Blackwater Elite still closes the standings with seven games lost.
