Regular Season Round 8: NLEX RW - Hotshots 109-112

Important game to mention about took place in Makati City. Top-ranked Hotshots (5-0) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers NLEX RW (5-3) 112-109 in the game for the first place. Hotshots dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to NLEX RW's 52. Hotshots forced 19 NLEX RW turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. NLEX RW was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Mike Harris (198-1983, college: Rice) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and guard Paul Lee (185-1989) who added 21 points and 4 assists during the contest. American swingman KJ McDaniels (198-1993, college: Clemson) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 6 blocks and point guard Kevin Alas (183-1991) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hotshots have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. NLEX RW lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with three games lost. Hotshots will play against Phoenix (#3) in Quezon in the next round, which may be the game of the day. NLEX RW will have a break next round.
