Regular Season Round 37: Iwate - Kagoshima 73-66

An interesting game for Iwate (25-12) which hosted in Iwate their close opponent Kagoshima (23-7). Third ranked Iwate managed to get a 7-point victory 73-66. Iwate outrebounded Kagoshima 46-27 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Kyle Richardson (200-1991, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Alex Jones (206-1987, college: Seattle) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Iwate's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Shuhei Muto (192-1991) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Christian Cunningham (201-1997, college: JSU) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kagoshima. Iwate have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Kagoshima at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Iwate are looking forward to face Yokohama EX (#10) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kagoshima will have a break next round.
