Regular Season Round 37: Toyoda - Chiba 80-88

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Chiba (24-4) beat 13th ranked Toyoda (6-30) in Aichi 88-80 on Sunday. Chiba made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game, while Toyoda only scored eight points from the stripe. Chiba had a 33-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. American power forward Jalen Billups (200-1992, college: NKU, agency: BIG) came up with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Hiroki Higashi (185-1995) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Toyoda in the defeat. Toyoda's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chiba. Despite that victory Chiba went down to third position due to points difference. Toyoda lost their twelfth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth place with 30 games lost. Chiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toyoda will play against Tokyo HT (#9) and hope to secure a win.
