The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#6) and Qatar Club (#8). Al Arabi (5-5) won against visiting Qatar Club (3-8) 70-59. They outrebounded Qatar Club 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nick West (210-94, college: AAMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds. International guard Khaled Abdelbaset (192-97) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Al Arabi's coach Hatem Mamlouk used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CSUN) answered with 26 points and 5 steals and point guard Bader Ba-Sulaiman (170-93) added 11 points in the effort for Qatar Club. Al Arabi maintains sixth place with 5-5 record. Qatar Club at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Al Khor. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
