Regular Season Round 36: Tokyo HT - Nagasaki 60-111

Date: February 12, 2022
B3 League top team - Nagasaki (28-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Tokyo HT (15-12) 111-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tokyo HT. Nagasaki dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo HT's 34. Nagasaki forced 19 Tokyo HT turnovers and outrebounded them 43-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Nagasaki players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Tokyo HT's players. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The winners were led by forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) supported him with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Nagasaki players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Tokyo HT. Forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) added 9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nagasaki have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first position with 28-3 record. Tokyo HT at the other side keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. Nagasaki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo HT will play again at home against the league's leader Nagasaki (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
