Regular Season Round 35: Yamaguchi - Iwate 63-78

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Iwate (22-12) beat on the road 12th ranked Yamaguchi (11-23) 78-63. Iwate dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Yamaguchi's 22. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. Iwate's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Iwate maintains fourth place with 22-12 record. Yamaguchi lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 23 games lost. Iwate will play against league's second-placed Kagoshima in Renova in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamaguchi will have a break next round.
