Regular Season Round 21: Al Sadd - Al Khor 110-70

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Al Sadd as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Al Sadd smashed 7th ranked Al Khor in Doha 110-70. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Al Khor's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Al Khor's players. The best player for the winners was international forward Babacar Dieng (197-97) who scored 30 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Byron Ashe (186-95, college: Longwood) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Al Sadd players scored in double figures. Al Sadd's coach Vassilis Bratsiakos felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) who recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds and Ali Tawfiq added 13 points respectively. Al Sadd (7-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Al Wakrah. Al Khor at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
