Regular Season Round 5: Tangerang - Rans Pik 47-63

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Rans Pik (2-3) defeated on the road higher ranked Tangerang (2-3) 63-47 on Sunday. Rans Pik held Tangerang to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Tangerang 49-33 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Hal Heyward (200) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international Bima Risky Ardiansyah (182-81) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. American Richard Ross (198-92, college: ODU) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Winston Swenjaya (175-99) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rans Pik moved-up to eighth place, which they share with WBS and Tangerang. Tangerang lost their third game in a row. Rans Pik will meet at home Bima Perkasa (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tangerang will play against Prawira (#7) in Bandung and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
