The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Amman: Al Wihdat (#3) and Al Ahli (#2). Al Ahli was defeated at home 69-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Al Wihdat dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ahli's 32. Al Wihdat forced 19 Al Ahli turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American guard Antoine Mason (191-92, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. International center Mohammad Hussein (210-90) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Mason is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Wihdat players scored in double figures. American forward Shaquille Thomas (201-92, college: Cincinnati) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Ahmad Obeid (200-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Wihdat (7-2) moved-up to second place. Defending champion Al Ahli dropped to the third position with three games lost.
