Regular Season Round 29: Anyang KGC - KT Sonicboom 67-77

The game between Top Four teams took place in Anyang. 4th placed host Anyang KGC (20-14) lost to second ranked KT Sonicboom (22-12) 77-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anyang KGC. KT Sonicboom dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Anyang KGC's 28. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-97) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists. American power forward Darryl Monroe (202-86, college: GMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-87) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Anyang KGC in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KT Sonicboom maintains second place with 22-12 record having six points less than leader SK Knights. Defending champion Anyang KGC keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. KT Sonicboom will play against bottom-ranked Samsung Th. (#10) in Seoul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Anyang KGC will play at home against Samsung Th. (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
