Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (4-24) lost to fifteenth ranked Blue Whales (9-19) in Sichuan 84-100 on Friday. Blue Whales dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 36 and made 30-of-37 free shots (81.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 46-26 including a 34-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85, agency: BIG) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 22 rebounds and 13 assists and Hanyi Jing (195-99) supported him with 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 17 points and 8 assists by point guard Hongfei Shi (180-93) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu Dragons. Forward Zhou Zhao (198-95) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Blue Whales maintains fifteenth position with 9-19 record. Jiangsu Dragons lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth place with 24 games lost.
