The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Al Khor's (3-4) home victory over 8th ranked Qatar Club (2-6) 85-56 on Wednesday. Al Khor looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: OK State) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Al Khor players scored in double figures. Al Khor's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-88) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 20 rebounds and Somalian guard Ahmed Abdalla added 17 points respectively for lost side. Al Khor moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Al Arabi. Loser Qatar Club keeps the eighth position with six games lost.
