Second Stage Round 6: Niroo Zamini - Chemidor 55-80

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tehran: Chemidor (#1) and Niroo Zamini (#4). Niroo Zamini was smashed at home by 25 points 55-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Chemidor dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Niroo Zamini's 18. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Niroo Zamini's players. It was a good game for international point guard Mohammadsina Vahedi (185-1) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Salar Monji (203-97, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. Chemidor's coach Mehran Shahintab felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Pouya Yakhchali (-96) replied with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Reza Sabagh added 14 points in the effort for Niroo Zamini. Chemidor have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-2 record, which they share with Gorgan. Niroo Zamini at the other side still closes the standings with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
