Regular Season Round 13: Antranik - Al Riyadi 82-95

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Al Riyadi (#4) and Antranik (#5). Antranik was defeated at home 82-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Antranik. Al Riyadi looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Jean Abdel Nour (198-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. International guard Ali Mansour (185-98) contributed with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Youssef Ghantous (191-96) answered with 28 points (made all of his seven free throws) and Elias Sebaaly added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Antranik. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Riyadi have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion (8-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with Beirut Club. Newly promoted Antranik keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Al Riyadi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Dynamo.
