Regular Season Round 29: Ibaraki R. - Hiroshima D. 79-81

Tenth-ranked Ibaraki R. (5-22) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Hiroshima D. (17-10) in Mito. The visitors from Hiroshima managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) scored 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hiroshima D. maintains fourth place with 17-10 record. Ibaraki R. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 22 games lost. Hiroshima D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ibaraki R. will play again at home against Hiroshima D. (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
