Second Stage Round 4: Parsa - Mahram 85-83

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Mahram (13-3) in Mashhad on Tuesday night. Visitors were edged by third ranked Parsa (8-8) 85-83. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Mahram. 25 personal fouls committed by Mahram helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brian Starr (190-96, college: Towson) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and the former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-96) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Parsa's coach Srdjan Jovanovic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Saeid Davarpanah (190-87, agency: Interperformances) scored 13 points. Five Mahram players scored in double figures. Parsa maintains third position with 8-8 record having five points less than leader Gorgan, which they share with Kouchin. Mahram at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
