Regular Season Round 16: Al Nahda - Al Salam 70-72

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Al Nahda's (2-14) home loss to ninth ranked Al Salam (7-9) in Al Khobar 70-72 on Monday. The winners were led by American forward Nick Stover (198-93, college: USA) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and Algerian center Touhami Ghezzoul (209-87, college: N.Dakota St.) supported him with 19 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blocks. Stover is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Malik Wineglass (203-93, college: Harris-Stowe St.) did not help to save the game for Al Nahda. Abdulrahman Kurdi added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Four Al Nahda players scored in double figures. Al Salam have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place. Al Nahda lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Duba Club. Al Salam will meet at home higher ranked Al Wehda (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Al Nahda will play against Al Ittihad (#3) in Jeddah and hope to secure a win.
