Regular Season Round 29: Yokohama EX - Toyoda 93-83

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Yokohama EX (10-18) won against 13th ranked Toyoda (6-20) in Tokyo 93-83 on Sunday. Yokohama EX made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Canadian forward Mamadou Gueye (201-93, college: Alberta) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. American Isaac Copeland (206-95, college: Nebraska) contributed with 25 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center Joe Wolfinger (214-85, college: Citadel) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import power forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: NKU, agency: BIG) added 27 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Toyoda. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yokohama EX have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Gifu. Toyoda at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Yokohama EX is looking forward to face Gifu (#10) on the road in the next round. Toyoda will play against Yamaguchi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
