Regular Season Round 29: Saitama - Yamaguchi 102-87

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Saitama (16-10) beat at home 12th ranked Yamaguchi (8-20) 102-87 on Sunday. Saitama looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American players dominated the game. Center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks and center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Yamaguchi. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saitama moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Yamaguchi keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost. Saitama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yamaguchi will play on the road against Toyoda (#13) in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
