Regular Season Round 28: Gifu - Nagasaki 79-111
Date: January 15, 2022
Leader Nagasaki delivered the twenty sixth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Gifu (10-18) 111-79. Nagasaki forced 23 Gifu turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Gifu's players. American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) fired 24 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) for the winners. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Jerrell Wright (204-91, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Alex Floresca (203-96, college: San Diego) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nagasaki (26-2) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first position. Gifu at the other side keeps the tenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Yokohama EX. Nagasaki will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu will play again at home against the league's leader Nagasaki (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
