Regular Season Round 6: Dreamers - Lioneers 80-86

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Dreamers (4-3) against second ranked Lioneers on Sunday night. Lioneers were defeated by Lioneers (5-3) 86-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dreamers. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Dreamers 79-54 including a 30-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lioneers made 11 blocks. 31 personal fouls committed by Dreamers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: NM State) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 31 rebounds and 6 blocks. American forward Branden Dawson? (200-93, college: Michigan St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Lioneers' coach Greg Lin used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Julian Boyd (203-90, college: LIU Brooklyn) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and naturalized American swingman Kenny Chien (188-95, college: Broward CC) added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Dreamers. Five Dreamers players scored in double figures. Lioneers keep a position of league leader. Dreamers at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. Lioneers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dreamers will play on the road against Steelers in Kaohsiung and are hoping to win this game.
