Regular Season Round 4: Al Ahli - Orthodox 80-92

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Ahli (3-1) in Amman on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Orthodox (3-1) 92-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Ahli. Orthodox dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ahli's 20. Orthodox had a 40-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Al Ahli's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shaquille Thomas (201-92, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. International forward Ahmad Alhamarsheh (197-86) replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Mousa Alawadi (188-85) added 18 points in the effort for Al Ahli. Al Ahli's coach Osama Daghles rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Orthodox moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Al Ahli.
