Regular Season Round 23: KT Sonicboom - KoGas 86-94

Very important is a home loss of first ranked KT Sonicboom (20-8) against seventh ranked KoGas (13-15) on Wednesday night. Host KT Sonicboom was defeated by KoGas in a tough game in Busan 86-94. KoGas made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center Cliff Alexander (203-95, college: Kansas) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. International guard Nakhyeon Kim (180-95) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists. Five KoGas players scored in double figures. The former international forward Hongseok Yang (199-97) produced a triple-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists and Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: UMass, agency: BeoBasket) added 18 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KoGas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with DB Promy. Loser KT Sonicboom still keeps top position with eight games lost. They share it with SK Knights. KoGas will meet at home higher ranked Mobis Phoebus (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KT Sonicboom will play against KCC Egis and hope to secure a win.
