Regular Season Round 16: Toyota BSR - Hitachi Cougars 79-52

There was a minor upset in Aichi where their close opponent Hitachi Cougars (6-8) were crushed by seventh ranked Toyota BSR (8-7) 79-52 on Monday. Toyota BSR looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Asami Saito (174-96) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 assists and international swingman Nanako Todo (175-0) who added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Coach Takehiko Chibana's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side the former international center Rika Tanimura (185-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-97) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Toyota BSR have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Hitachi Cougars lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Chanson V-M. Toyota BSR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Cougars will play against Eneos S. (#4) and hope to secure a win.
