Regular Season Round 25: Gunma CT - Tochigi Brex 63-99

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Gunma CT (11-15) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Tochigi Brex (17-9) 99-63 on Saturday. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Gunma CT's 28. Tochigi Brex forced 19 Gunma CT turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals. Five Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Teru Sugawara (181-98) scored 13 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex maintains fourth place with 17-9 record. Gunma CT lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
