The game between second ranked Aviators (13-3) and seventh ranked Loongs (12-4) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Aviators were defeated by Loongs in a tough game in Taiyuan 113-119. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Aviators. Loongs made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Loongs had a 39-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Loongs made 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Aviators helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kay Felder (175-95, college: Oakland) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws). The former international Shuai Yuan (194-94) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American guard Askia Booker (186-93, college: Colorado) answered with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 11 assists and the former international center Zijie Shen (210-97) added 23 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) in the effort for Aviators. Five Loongs and four Aviators players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Loongs have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Aviators at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. They share it with Zhejiang GB. and Shanghai S.. Loongs are looking forward to face Ducks (#8) in Beijing in the next round. Aviators will play on the road against Jilin Tigers (#12) in Changchun and are hoping to win this game.
