No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sharks (13-3) beat 8th ranked Long-Lions (10-6) in Shanghai 105-101 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sharks made 28-of-37 free shots (75.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Long-Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sharks made 10 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists for the winning side. American guard Nate Mason (188-95, college: Minnesota) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-93, college: Liberty) added 19 points and 9 assists respectively for Long-Lions in the defeat. Four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sharks. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Zhejiang GB. and Shenzhen L. Long-Lions lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Beijing D.. Sharks will meet Rockets (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Long-Lions will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#18) and hope to secure a win.
