Rather expected game when 7th ranked Aomori W. (2-24) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Yamagata (14-12) 80-56 on Wednesday. Yamagata outrebounded Aomori W. 39-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Aomori W.'s players. The best player for the winners was American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) who scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Spanish-Dominican Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Hayate Komasawa (188-98) produced 20 points and 4 assists and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-90, college: NM State) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yamagata moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saga B. Aomori W. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 24 games lost. Yamagata will meet Saga B.
