Regular Season Round 24: Ibaraki R. - Kawasaki BT 65-104
Date: December 29, 2021
Everything went according to plan in Mito where second ranked Kawasaki BT (18-6) outscored 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (5-19) 104-65 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Ibaraki R. 44-24 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kawasaki BT looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Ibaraki R.'s players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-88, college: Northeastern) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Kawasaki BT players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kawasaki BT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. keeps the tenth place with 19 games lost. Kawasaki BT will meet at home San-en NP (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ibaraki R. will play against Alvark Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
