Regular Season Round 22: Sirjan - Zob Ahan 75-76

Important game to mention about took place in Sirjan. Fourth ranked Zob Ahan (8-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Sirjan (8-5) 76-75 in the game for the second place. Zob Ahan dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sirjan's 34. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!). The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Russian guard Anton Ponkrashov (200-86) replied with 19 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international swingman Mohammad Shahrian (193-93) added 20 points in the effort for Sirjan. Four Sirjan players scored in double figures. Zob Ahan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Sirjan dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Kerman. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
