Regular Season Round 14: Fujitsu RW - Hitachi Cougars 71-67

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Hitachi Cougars (6-6) lost to top-ranked Fujitsu RW (14-0) in Kawasaki 67-71. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Hitachi Cougars outrebounded Fujitsu RW 45-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. The former international power forward Yunika Nakamura (178-95) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The former international center Rika Tanimura (185-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Senegalese center Daramee Malem-Doi (187-97) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Fujitsu RW have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Denso I. Hitachi Cougars lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with six games lost. Fujitsu RW will play against Yamanashi QB (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
