Regular Season Round 4: Kings - Lioneers 80-101

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Kings (3-2) against second ranked Lioneers on Sunday night. Lioneers were rolled over by Lioneers (3-2) 101-80. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Lioneers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Kings' 26. Lioneers forced 19 Kings turnovers and outrebounded them 59-27 including a 47-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Kings' players. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: NM State) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds (perfect from the field making all fifteen shots !!!) for the winners. American Nick Faust (198-93, college: LBSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Chin-Min Yang (190-84) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Kai-Yen Lee (182-93) added 11 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lioneers have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kings. Lioneers will meet league's leader Fubon Braves in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kings' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei Fubon Braves.
