An exciting game was played in Aktobe. Leader Astana faced 3rd placed Aktobe. Guests from Nur-Sultan (11-0) defeated host Aktobe (4-9) 77-61. Astana dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Aktobe's 14. They outrebounded Aktobe 50-20 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Astana looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: SDSU) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Antonio Campbell (206-94, college: Ohio, agency: Network Sports International) chipped in 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Astana's coach Darko Ruso used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Russian power forward Alexander Tikhonin (206-92) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the former international swingman Konstantin Dvirnyi (192-88) added 9 points respectively. Astana have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. Aktobe lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Astana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aktobe will play again at home against the league's leader Astana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
