The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighteenth ranked Blue Whales' (3-11) home victory over bottom-ranked Rockets (1-13) 111-106 on Sunday. Blue Whales made 36-of-42 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Rockets only scored seventeen points from the stripe. Blue Whales looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Songwei Zhu (206-96) who added 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 7 assists and Delong Han (196-95) scored 18 points and 7 assists. Five Blue Whales and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Blue Whales moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Fujian S. Newly promoted Rockets dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Nanjing TX MK. Blue Whales will meet higher ranked Heroes (#10) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rockets will play against Eagles (#13) and hope to win that game.
