Regular Season Round 13: Fujitsu RW - Hitachi Cougars 71-65

Rather predictable result when leader Fujitsu RW (13-0) won against 6th ranked Hitachi Cougars (6-5) in Kawasaki 71-65 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The former international power forward Monica Okoye (182-99) nailed 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. The former international center Rika Tanimura (185-93) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aya Tsurumi (165-92) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Hitachi Cougars in the defeat. The victory was the thirteenth consecutive win for Fujitsu RW. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Denso I. Hitachi Cougars lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. Fujitsu RW will again meet at home Hitachi Cougars (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
