Very important is a home loss of third ranked Koshigaya A. (15-9) against fifth ranked Fukuoka R. (11-13) on Saturday night. Host Koshigaya A. was defeated by Fukuoka R. in Tokyo 92-75. They made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Taisei Shirato (181-95) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and American power forward Gerald Beverly (202-93, college: Daemen) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import Craig Brackins (208-87, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukuoka R. maintains fifth position with 11-13 record. Loser Koshigaya A. dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Fukuoka R. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Koshigaya A. will play again against Fukuoka R. (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
