Regular Season Round 22: Gifu - Toyoda 92-78

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Gifu (8-16) beat at home 13th ranked Toyoda (4-18) 92-78 on Saturday. They outrebounded Toyoda 43-25 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Jayce Johnson (213-97, college: Marquette) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Morito Koga (190-98) chipped in 23 points during the contest. Four Gifu players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import power forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: NKU, agency: BIG) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gifu maintains tenth position with 8-16 record. Toyoda lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Gifu will again meet at home Toyoda (#13) in the next round. Toyoda will have a break next round.
