Regular Season Round 6: NLEX RW - Phoenix 93-102

The most surprising game was the first loss of NLEX RW (4-1) in Makati City on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Phoenix (3-1) 102-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of NLEX RW. Phoenix forced 21 NLEX RW turnovers. Naturalized Canadian guard Matthew Wright (193-91, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Justin Chua (198-89) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Calvin John Oftana (195-96) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman KJ McDaniels (198-93, college: Clemson) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Phoenix and five NLEX RW players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Phoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Ginebra Kings. NLEX RW at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost.
